Fiorentina and Le Coq Sportif have once again released a new multiple away kit collection inspired by the history of Florence and paying tribute to the city’s Calcio Fiorentino. The “Quattro Quartiere, Un Cuore Viola” campaign represents four traditional quarters of the city: Santa Croce, wearing blue, represents the eastern part of the city. South of the Arno is the home of the white Santo Spirito quarter. Santa Maria Novella and the reds come from the west, and the greens of San Giovanni are the northern section.
The novel aspect of releasing 4 away kits representing 4 quarters is a nice homage to the history of the city, but at the same time the kits from Le Coq Sportif can end up looking a bit boring and repetitive (having very similar kits last season). It is likely the last year we see Fiorentina’s historic kits produced by Le Coq Sportif as there was talk of change to a new manufacturer. In the meantime we await Fiorentina’s new home kit, their 5th for the new season.
